Matters of Observance Required by Black Belts

1.      Use Tae Kwon Do as a means of lawful justice only; i.e., self-defense or protecting the weak.

2.      Use discretion in showing or demonstrating Tae Kwon Do to the public. Have pride in your knowledge of Tae Kwon Do and help spread the principles of Tae Kwon Do to others.

3.      Always follow, respect, and obey your Master Instructor.

4.      Try to take the initiative regarding any school function and/or activities in order to show leadership ability to your lower belts and respect to your instructor.

5.      Obtain advance permission from your Master Instructor prior to taking any Tae Kwon Do related activities; e.g., teaching, participating in tournaments, participating in demonstrations, holding a gathering with Tae Kwon Do members, communicating with other Martial Arts organizations and members, entering any non-Tae Kwon Do meets if the team is composed of school members, having an interview with news media, etc.

6.      Any questions, problems, complications or recommendations regarding the function of your school, USTU, Olympic Committees, and WTF should be taken up with your Master Instructor.

7.      All Black Belts must maintain friendly and harmonious relationships with each other and with all members of the school system.

8.      All Black Belts must make an effort to attend Black Belt Classes, Promotional Tests, Tournaments, Demonstrations, and other sponsored special events.
